Today, former Maharajas and other royalty have opened their doors to those travellers who want to take a part of Indian history back with them. Grandiose palaces like Rambagh in Jaipur, Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur and Lake Palace in Udaipur were converted into Grand Heritage Hotels almost three to four decades ago. Moreover, right now plenty of the smaller palaces and havelis have recently opened their doors to the tourists.
