Maharaja Royal Retreat
Introduction
Maharaja Royal Retreat was once owned by the king of Rewa. The king and his family used this resort when they went for hunting in the forest. Today this resort has been converted into a tourist resort but it still retains the aura of the royal past.
Accommodations
In Maharaja's Royal Retreat tourists can experience luxurious and spacious living. The décor is a reminiscent of the royal lifestyle which is rarely found anywhere else. Keeping in mind the convenience of visiting guests all the rooms of the resort have been provided with twin beds and other comfortable furniture. Not only this, the attached bathroom has cold and hot water supply throughout the day. The central courtyard of the resort acts as a children's play ground.
Cuisines
Even the kitchen of the restaurant has a royal feel about it. It severs some of the best Indian, Continental and Chinese dishes to its guests.
Other Facilities
Room services and laundry services are available in each room of Maharaja Royal Retreat. To and fro transport from Khajuraho, Umaria and Satna can be arranged on request of the tourists.
Activities
The staffs of the resort are very friendly. They try to keep the guests busy with films, slides shows and pictures of wildlife and Rewa dynasty. The library of the resort has rare collection of armory and books of the royal era that can be browsed through leisurely. Tribal dance performances by the locals are common during special occasions and festivals.
Wildlife viewing by jeeps, elephant rides, bird watching trips, nature walks and trekking are some of the other activities organized by the resort staff for its guests.
